This is one of my favorite posts to write every year. I love looking through all the upcoming releases and adding them to my TBR. I love to see what my favorite authors are putting out, what debut authors are coming to publication and if there are any stand out non fictions to keep my eye on.
While 2024 was a decent year, it seemed that publishing quieted down in the fall which probably had to do with the election so I wasn't enthralled with the choices. However, 2025 seems to be shaping up to be a stellar publishing year with so many good titles coming out.
I'm also going to do a post with some of the books that are on my TBR that are backlist books. I have so many that I want to read and I'm going to prioritize them over others.
For now, let's get into what is being released this year that I can't wait to read!
Spells, Strings and Forgotten Things by Breanne Randall
Release Date: March 4th
Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins
Release Date: March 18th
This Book Will Bury Me by Ashley Winstead
Release Date: March 25th
A true crime obsessed young woman, whose father just died, tries to solve the murder of three college students in Idaho (sound familiar?) but gets more than she bargained for. It sounds enticing and just like the type of thriller I love. I might pre-order it or make sure I have a hold on it at my library. I've never read an Ashley Winstead book but I know people love her so I'm excited to read This Book Will Bury Me.
Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry
Release Date: April 22nd
In what world doesn't an Emily Henry novel end up on this list? She is my favorite author and someone who I simply can't believe is real. Her latest, Great Big Beautiful Life is loosely inspired by Taylor Swift's song The Last Great American Dynasty, and that's all I need to know to place a preorder.
With a Vengeance by Riley Sager
Release Date: June 10th
Riley Sager's last two books have been mildly disappointing so I have high, but realistic, hopes for With a Vengeance. A scorned woman out for revenge on the downfall of her family gets a surprise when someone else starts a killing spree amongst those who have wronged her.
The Bachelorette Party by Camilla Sten
Release Date: June 10th
I've been obsessed with Scandinavian countries and life lately, so a thriller set in Sweden sounds perfect for me. Tess is a true crime obsessed podcaster who cannot stop thinking about the disappearance of four friends, which leads her to the same place they disappeared from when she goes on her best friend's bachelorette party. I've never read anything by Camilla Sten but The Bachelorette Party sounds incredible.
The Woman in Suite 11 by Ruth Ware
Release Date: July 8th
A sequel to The Woman in Cabin 10?! I had no idea this was happening until I was looking through the lists of 2025 releases but I am hoping Ruth Ware can follow up greatness. Just like Sager, her last two books have been so disappointing to me so I'm excited to see what happens when we dive back into this world. The Woman in Suite 11 follows the same main character as the first novel, this time to a Swiss hotel opening where I'm sure everything will be just fine.
A Witch's Guide to Magical Inn Keeping by Sangu Mandanna
Release Date: July 15th
