Taylor Swift is usually right but she was in her bag when she said 'august slipped away like a bottle of wine..." I cannot believe we're already in September! I'm feeling indifferent about it because I enjoyed this summer and I don't feel like I'm ready to embrace fall just yet.
That is very unusual for me, which is giving me massive pause. Not being excited for fall is just another way I've realized that I haven't been myself lately. However, the chill in the air, pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks, and the onslaught of fall content I'm getting served on TikTok might just be the ticket to getting me back on board the fall train.
August was interesting; I found my way back to myself a bit, got organized and started falling back into a routine. I think that'll just get better with the change of seasons. This month, I implemented new habits, returned to some old ones and rediscovered some old favorite items.
Notion
A few years ago I became entranced with Notion, just like everyone else on TikTok. I used it consistently for a few months and then like most things in my life, it became too difficult to keep up with. I tried to get back into it occasionally since then and failed, but I was determined to find some sort of system that worked for me. After discovering an inspiring Instagram account & small shop Styled By Sakuranbo I was convinced to buy one of her templates and get to work. I've been using it nonstop for all kinds of things, like making lists of movies & tv shows I want to watch, keeping track of goals, and overall life organization. I've always been a physical planner girlie but this digital system has been working better for me and I'm very thankful.
Arrae Magnesium
If you follow me on social, you might've seen me go on about how much I love this magnesium. In July, I was struggling so much with my sleep; I couldn't sleep more than 4-5 hours at a time and I was at my wits end. Finally, my primary care doctor, my therapist and the entire internet convinced me to start consistently take Magnesium. I decided to be fancy and bought the Arrae one...and within three days I felt like a new person. It's easy on the stomach, doesn't give me any weird side effects, and makes me feel clear. I'm obsessed!
Tory Burch Mini Ella Crocheted Tote
Another month where a Tory Burch bag ends up on my favorites list... it's becoming a bad habit! Tory Burch had another private sale this month and when I saw the Mini Ella Crocheted tote bag, I fell in love. I don't have anything like it in my collection and I was smitten. It was a risk to buy something so summery in August but I am going to Florida in October so I figured it would be a good bag to have anyways. I refused to let her pass me by and I'm so happy I didn't! This little tote is small but mighty; it fits so much, is so comfortable to wear, and looks cute with almost everything thanks to the multi-colors. It's also really versatile; it's the perfect bag to wear on vacation, or to a BBQ but is cool enough to wear to a nice dinner or running errands. I can't wait to use this all next summer (and I'll probably try to get more wear out of it through the next week or so). There's other color ways to try but mine is still on sale so I recommend scooping it up.
