Ever since I started following bloggers I've always dreamed of having my own home office. I used to browse Pinterest for the perfect inspiration photos that would somehow manifest itself at some point in my life. I wanted the beautiful desk, the shelves that showed off my handbag collection, and just a girly place in my home that I could work, blog, and write.
Well, when I moved into my apartment in July, that dream finally came true. I have my own home office and after a few months of back and forth on furniture placement it's finally finished.
As much as I've been dreaming about this room for the better part of 10 years, I was conflicted on how to set it up and what I wanted the vibe to be. Of course it was going to have accents of pink, and I was going to display my handbags in here but overall I've been overthinking it. I had to pick and choose what the room could handle and that was a tough pill to swallow.
When I was planning the layout of this room I wanted a vanity space, I wanted a rug, an ottoman... but the room just didn't end up with those specific things whether it was dependent of space or necessity. So right now, I have my desk (which is really the issue because it's so large), my makeup drawers, a huge book shelf that houses all my decor, bags, and some books, and a smaller desk from Target that was the icing on top of the cake.
I can make this smaller desk into a writing space (and reserve my larger desk for work), have it be my little content studio and use it as a vanity. Having another surface in the room was really the right choice for me.
My pride and joy is truly the bookcase. It's from Wayfair, was fairly simple to put together and looks so elegant. I've jam packed it with my handbags, some of my favorite decorative books (and the Twilight series), lipsticks, and some other decor pieces. It's everything I wanted out of my first bookcase and I truly love it. It's currently out of stock but I've linked a few similar below.
I'm still stuck a little on the rest of the decor; something for the wall over the white desk, maybe a few more photos or a mirror, and I'd love to possibly change out my Alex drawers for something different to put underneath the desk. I want the room to be inviting and cozy, while still remaining true to the purpose.
I don't spend a ton of time in here right now, opting to blog and write from my pink couch so if you have any suggestions to make this feel more cozy, please let me know!
I love having this extra room and it makes me so happy that I fulfilled my dream of a typical blogger cloffice.
