Influenced: The Products I've Purchased Because of Influencers, Vol 1

 I've had this blog for almost 10 years and have been following blogs for just as long. Being in the influencer world and on social media, in general, has caused me to buy a lot of products. 

I am easily influenced, by both influencers and brand marketing which is funny since I am both, in my day job and hobby so I know all the tricks. Yet, I still fall for it in the best possible way. I love a gimmick, I love an ad, I love shopping so it's a no-brainer that I am fully trusting some of my favorite influencers, and it usually pays off. 

I figured it was time to do a little series on the products I was most influenced to buy from social media whether that was a blogger, an entire community, or a brand. In good influencer fashion, this post was inspired by my favorite blogger of all time basically, Carly from CarlyThePrepster, or Carly Riordan as she is now known. She started doing these posts back in the summer of 2021 and I've been wanting to do one of my own ever since.

Let's get into it!  

Simple Modern Tumbler 

Tinx, one of my current favorite influencers, has been raving about this Simple Modern tumbler since she started making TikTok videos. I didn't think there was anything that special about them though, they seemed like a regular tumbler and I have so many cups that I enjoyed anyway. I didn't see the point but everyone kept talking about them and on social media, they became known as the Tinx cup. I finally bought one and now I do not know how to live without it.

This cup keeps your drink cold for literal days. I've gone to sleep with a full cup of ice and woke up with the ice still in cubes. I don't understand how they do it, I don't understand how my drinks stay so cold in this mug. It's like magic and now I want a cup in every style and size. It is well worth it! 

Skinny Confidential Ice Roller

Is it cheating if the influencer you are influenced by owns the brand? Lauryn Evarts Bosstick aka the Skinny Confidential is an influencer who loves her rituals and products. She has been raving about ice rolling for a long time but I didn't think I needed one because I had my jade roller and gua sha. I thought that was enough and that they did the same thing. 

Then, when Lauryn released her Hot Mess Ice Roller, I was sold. I watched her talk about it on Instagram Stories, and her podcast and read every blog post that she published, and knew I had to order it. The fact that it stays cold for so long and was comfortable to use, thanks to the weighted handle and thumb press print was enough to sell me on it. It is such a perfect ice roller; it feels so good on the skin, alleviates my jaw pain, and gets rid of any puffiness. It is well worth the $70.

Hotel Lobby Candle

Every influencer, including the owner of the brand, Lindsay Silberman, has been raving about these candles for over a year. I love the idea of a candle that exhibits luxury and class, while also smelling like your favorite hotel lobby. It's just such a cool idea and I finally bought my first during the winter season when the brand released their holiday candles. When I opened the packaging and was able to smell the candle without even lighting it, I knew I was hooked. I immediately bought the Paris scent which I have been loving and just purchased their latest one, Spa, which I cannot wait to receive. Luxury candles are obviously something important to me right now and I am all about being influenced. 

Tula Glow & Get It Cooling Eye Balm

This is an oldie but a goodie. Years ago everyone and their mother were raving about the Tula Cooling Eye Balm. You couldn't go onto Instagram without seeing your favorite influencers using it but I think it was Kathleen Barnes of CarrieBradshawLied that hooked me on it. It really does go on cold to your undereyes and adds the subtle blue tint to hide dark circles. It's one of my favorite parts of my morning routine and I've repurchased it at least once already.
