It’s tons of fun when you start texting your crush. However, it can also be very confusing. Guys have some pretty baffling texting habits. I have your solutions.
Flaky Texting
You’ve been texting a guy, and sometimes he responds...but sometimes he doesn’t. What’s a girl to do?
Well, if you have been the one initiating most of the texting, it’s time to let him take the lead. By initiating conversation so often, you’ve already given him plenty of reassurance about your interest. Now, it’s his turn to exert some effort. It isn’t fair to you if you are spending more time on a guy than he is devoting to you. It can be aggravating as you wait to see if he makes the move, so distract yourself by having fun with friends. Soon, you’ll have a clear idea of how he feels, based on his actions when it’s all left up to him!
When He Stops Replying
You meet a guy, and he seems interested in you. Problem is, you always are the one texting him. Maybe your friends point out that you’re coming across as “desperate,” so you stop and never hear from him. Or perhaps you add him on Facebook, get a message from him, and he never responds to your reply. Any girl would be confused here. Does he like you or not?!
First, know that it is perfectly acceptable for the girl to make the first move. But if the guy isn’t responding how you expect him to, then it is also completely understandable for you to move on. Guys like this send really mixed signals. They make some effort, but just not a lot of it. And if he’s leaving you wanting more, then that minimal amount of effort simply doesn’t cut it. In situations like these, you need to move on if you end up questioning his interest in you.
He Doesn’t Follow Through
He kissed you. It’s been 24 hours, and you haven’t heard from him. What does it mean?
It is quite possible that your kissing partner is refraining from texting you, out of fear of looking too desperate. In this case, he will probably wait a couple of days before making contact. Guys get just as nervous about texting us, as we do about texting them. Another possibility is that he likes you, but has no clue what to say. However, if a week goes by and you haven’t heard from him, you need to assume that you were just a hookup to him. It’s time to move on.
