I've droned on and on about how I've been in a nail polish rut, especially this summer. I just couldn't find my groove with summer shades but I finally have!
I haven't used Turquoise and Caicos by Essie in years, and I don't know if I've ever even owned it so I thought now was a good time to try it out again. I ordered it from Ulta and immediately used it a week or so ago, and was impressed.
In my head, Turquoise and Caicos is the ultimate summer shade thanks to its blue-green tone and obviously the name. However, when I applied this polish to my nails I realized it's more of a seasonally universal shade and incredibly unique.
Turquoise and Caicos is definitely in the green/blue family but it is more muted and has a tint of grey. This is not a neon color nor is it really very bright so that makes it much more wearable in my opinion. It looks so beautiful on the nails and is a great everyday shade!
As for the application and wear time, I think this performs better than some other shades I've been wearing recently. I think my nails are rejecting polish as of late because everything goes on patchy and chips pretty quickly.
However, Turquoise and Caicos didn't do that to me! It went on so nicely and stayed on pretty long until I started picking at my nails. To me, this formula is better than some other recent Essie shades and maybe that's because it's such a classic color.
I really love this polish and it makes me think I should try more of Essie's classic polish shades since the formula seems to be so much better than their newer colors!
What's on your nails this Monday?
xoxo
