Monthly Muse: April 2022 Favorites

April flew by and it was not the month I expected. My grandpa's sudden death along with other little issues popped up and what I thought was going to be a really celebratory, fun month turned into a sad and somber one. I'm happy to say goodbye to it and say hello to a new month where plans are few and far between so I can do whatever I please. 

April was also the month I decided to *try* to take control of my financials and hold myself accountable for the money I frivolously spend. I need to get smarter and the only person who is in control is me. I need to hold myself accountable for my actions, and the new habits that I need to form. Something has got to give... I need to grow up.

This month felt like a month of change for me and I'm looking forward to seeing what else happens this year. 

It was also the month that I found a lot of new items to fall in love with so let's get right into that now.

Prada Galleria "Small" Bag

The Small Prada Galleria was the bag I chose to get with my tax return this year and I have hardly touched any other bag all month. I have been eyeing this bag for years and when nothing else was catching my eye I decided to take the plunge. I got it for a good price, under $700 and I loved the color, silhouette, and how elegant it is. I can dress it up, dress it down, wear it crossbody or as a shoulder bag. It is so versatile, classy, and fits my style perfectly. I honestly would love the bigger one for even more versatility so don't be surprised if I end up with one. 

Croissant Ring

Rings are my favorite piece of jewelry and I love the new trend of the croissant rings. They're so cute, go with everything and still make a statement without being overly loud. I also love anything that is croissant-related. I previously had a bigger croissant ring but my sister stole it from me so when I saw this smaller, more dainty one from Amazon I immediately bought it. It's also under $15 so how could you go wrong? It has become the most worn ring in my collection and I can't stop wearing it. 

Caudalie Beauty Elixir 

I had the Caudalie Beauty Elixir years ago and loved it. It's such an incredible facial spray that truly refreshed the skin and makes you feel insanely hydrated. However, back in the day, the packaging was terrible. It was a really bad spray bottle that spritzed and leaked all over the place. Well now, Caudalie fixed the packaging to a regular spray bottle and it is so much better. It goes onto your skin evenly and nicely without any weird after-effects. I use it every day as part of my AM and PM skincare routine but also just during the day to give my skin a little extra something.

Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer

I had been busting for a new concealer and I finally picked one up last month. The Hourglass Vanish Concealer goes along with their Vanish Foundation Stick which is one of my favorites; it's also a concealer that has been getting rave reviews for years and now I know why. It is one of the best and most unique concealers I've ever used. 

It is a full coverage concealer that is said to be waterproof, blurring and brightening. I put a few dots of this on under my eyes and the dark circles are instantly gone. It's unlike anything I've ever seen, even with Shape Tape because that is very drying. The Vanish concealer is not drying at all and it leaves my skin with a natural finish. If you have really bad, hereditary dark circles you will love this concealer.

The Everygirl

I have mentioned my love of this website before but over the past few months, the content has just been top-notch. The Everygirl has always had articles that spoke to me (and I was even published there once before which is the highest honor) but lately, they are just knocking it out of the park. Between product recommendations, relationship advice, and productivity tips, I am on the website every single day, reading up on the new posts and saving them for reference later. It makes me feel so empowered, so connected, and just so much better about my life because I know I'm not alone.
